How to disable USB port/drive in Windows 7

You may want to disable the USB port or disable the USB drive in Windows 7 for several reasons.

If you don’t use USB drive much, then its a good idea to disable it to prevent any malware infection from a USB drive.

To disable USB port or USB drive in Windows 7, click on Start button, type "regedit" in the search box, and start the regedit program when you see it in the results.

In the regedit, navigate to this path in the left panel,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR

Now double click on the "Start" key in the left panel, and change its value to 4. This will disable the USB drive or USB port in your computer. To enable the USB drive again, change the value of this key to 3 again.

Now you have to reboot/restart the your PC for better results.

How to Install Themes on the PS3 Using a Hard Drive / USB

Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) allows you to change the look of the display by installing downloaded themes. If your PS3 isn't connected to the Internet, then this presents a slight, but easy to work around, complication. By using an external hard drive or USB flash drive, you can download the theme's P3T file onto the drive. You then transfer the drive to the PS3 and install it.

• Power on the external drive and plug its USB cable into your computer. If you only have an internal hard drive, you can purchase an adapter that supplies external power and a USB connector for use on your computer and the PS3. 

• Create a folder named "PS3" in the root of the drive. In that folder, create a subfolder called "Theme." Download or transfer a P3T file into the "Theme" folder (see Resources). 

• Disconnect the hard drive from the computer and attach it to the PS3 using the same USB cable. 

• Enter the "Settings" menu from the initial PS3 screen by highlighting it with your directional buttons and pressing the triangle to select it. Then select "Theme Settings." 

• Choose "Theme" and then "Install." Select the USB device (i.e., your hard drive) and select the theme from the list displayed. If you wish to install multiple themes, repeat this step for each theme. You can only use one at a time, but multiple themes allows you to easily change between them. 

• Go back to the "Settings" menu and choose "Theme Settings." Select the newly installed theme and click "Apply."
